Calgon Carbon Granted Fifth Patent For Advanced FLUEPAC® Technology Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE: CCC), the leader in innovative activated carbon products for flue gas treatment, today announced that the United States Patent & Trademark Office (U.S. P&TO) granted the company its fifth patent related to its FLUEPAC® technology. U.S. Patent, No. 8,450,238 was issued on May 28, 2013, and relates to its FLUEPAC® ST and FLUEPAC® STF products for flue gas treatment. The patent includes claims directed to both composition of matter and methods of manufacture of these products.

Cabot Corporation announces that the Board of its joint venture carbon black company, Cabot Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (CMSB), has decided to cease carbon black production at its Port Dickson, Malaysia, facility by the end of July 2013. Customer shipments from the plant are expected to continue for a period of time after production has been shut down. Cabot holds a 51 percent equity share in CMSB.

ADA-ES Awarded $8.5 Million Contract for Activated Carbon and Dry Sorbent Injection Systems at Two Plants
ADA-ES, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a contract from a large air pollution equipment company to supply Activated Carbon Injection (ACI) and Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) systems for installation at two coal-fired power plants. Work on the contract, which is valued at more than $8.5 million, will begin immediately with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2013 and first quarter of next year.

Haycarb PLC, the Hayleys Group’s global activated carbon manufacturer last week said it had increased its activated carbon manufacturing capacity by 2,500 MT in the third quarter ended December 31, 2012 with the acquisition of a second plant in Thailand. According to Haycarb PLC Managing Director Rajitha Kariyawasam, the firm will pursue strategy initiatives to expand capacity in new locations in Indonesia coupled with continued emphasis on value addition projects in Sri Lanka.
